What exactly is a brazilian wax? A brazilian wax removes hair from your entire pubic region, front to back, allowing you a waxing menu to choose from if you opt for a design, such as a triangle or a "landing strip." For some, the procedure may be painful, especially the first time. To alleviate pain, you can take ibuprofen ahead of the wax, or drink 8 ounces of apple juice, as it helps reduce inflammation, sensitivity, and discomfort. Before you go in for your wax, your hair must be about a 1/4" of an inch long, or about the length of a grain of rice, to allow the wax to grip the hair. After your first wax, it is recommended 4-6 weeks before your following appointment. Over time, the structure of your hair will change, meaning less visible regrowth, and an easier, less painful wax with each visit.
